| Comments: | I am trying to find some info on English Spaniels. We have one and are her third owners. I think she was 4yrs old when we got her. Her name is Cricket. She is all black except for white under her chin. Previous owners did not think she would be very good with children. I have 12 grandchildren and Cricket loves everyone of them. She is most happy when all my family is around. Only problem, she knows how to get to food she is not suppose to get. She takes from the youngest grandchildren. I have talked to all of them and most listen, but Cricket does know how to sneak food. We have to be very careful about food sitting on the table, because if a chair is left slight out, she can manage to move it out more and climb onto the table. She is very bright, but on the other hand very stubborn. I am limiting her to 1/2 cup of food twice a day. We have bought Purine ONE. She weighs in at 45lbs. Do you have any suggestions. Keeping her locked outside while we eat is impossible. I have way too large of a family and the kids are in and out also. Cricket scratches on the doors and has ruined the wood work. We live in Mesa, AZ and it is very hot here during the summer. I am afraid that she will have a heartattack. Any suggestions. Diane Earlywine |

I am really impressed by your site and I am interested in adopting another cocker as I lost my baby on New Years Eve (2000-2001). It was the most devasting thing I have ever encountered in my 21 years of living. All I hoped was that my baby "Sandy" could see in the New Year, but this was not the case. He was a beautiful, golden cocker spaniel and lived to the grand ole age of 12 years and 11 months. He had a tumor under his left eye and this gradually took away his life, after a short time on medication, to try and slow down the growth of the tumor. I tried to keep him and savour every moment I could with him but eventually I had to say goodbye. As I am still living at home with my parents and two other small dogs, Zac (mini foxie) and Benson (dachshund), I have to wait until I move out, to get another dog (two dogs are the limit where I live). If I could please find out a little more about getting another cocker, either through yourselves or someone in Queensland, to the above email address, this would be greatly appreciated. spaniels are! The music played when viewing the photos of Kea brought tears. While on my honeymoon in June of 2000, my 2-year old English Cocker Spaniel Sadie Belle died. The vet says she had a massive heart attack; my parents also indicated that Sadie was extremely despondent while I was away. It was very heartbreaking to say the least.
